Salute to fatherhood, Happy Father's Day Submitted by: Kevin Chertkow
Ties, tools, coffee cups, or a gag gift is what Father’s Day was about that I remember when growing up. Remembering to wish my dad a Happy Father’s Day and give him a hug because I knew there was day on the calendar for him, seemed like the thing to do. I have never really understood or appreciated what Father’s Day was all about until I became a father myself. After all the diapers, laundry, dinners, drawings on the walls, baseball games, music recitals, late nights with fevers, upset tummies, hugs to heal small scrapes and kisses for the bruises. I finally understand what being a father and what Father’s Day is all about. I do not need presents or special favors done for me; however, that would not be entirely bad. I am more excited knowing that there is a day on the calendar that recognizes all the hard work fathers like me put towards our families over the year. More than ever, I would like to wish not only my own father, but also all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfather, foster fathers, uncles or any other men who are like a father a heart felt Happy Father’s Day. All of us here at Dad To The Bone would like to recognize all the fathers around the world and wish you a warm thank you for being the best father you can be. Here is a list of Father’s Days in other countries to help everyone remember and wish all the respected fathers a Happy Father’s Day when their country celebrates it.
