Mother's Day is an important day for everyone. Dads and children to remember. Husbands to not forget and for sons or brothers, uncles and grandpas too!

This is a day that all should recognize and remember! Why is this so important? Well, women are the only ones that can give birth and bring in new life. And it is something special any more ways than one.

Here are some ideas on what a dad, step dad, husband, brother, uncle or nephew, cousin or grandfather might think of that would be something special for someone they knew was a mom.

I have compounded many different thoughts on how to make that someone feel really special. It may not be something you use, but these are just ideas. If you have some others, please feel free to add them in, as I am sure there are plenty of individuals that have no idea or have forgotten until the last minute!

I decided to take some initiative and talk to a woman I know, who is married and has a son. I asked some basic questions about what she would like to have happen on Mother's Day. She was telling me that even just a nice night at home with them watching a movie together would be great.

Okay, but what should a guy do if he's one of those last minute holiday shoppers? She was unsure. I asked her, if he showed up and had flowers and a card, would that do? Her response was what I anticipated. "Well, it would be nice to know that he did that, but...." And the buts have it!

I then asked her.. "What if he made you breakfast and then maybe you all went out with your son for the day and then he got grandma to watch your son. Then, you not knowing, he had a picnic basket filled will flowers, food, maybe even a bottle of your favorite wine (or beverage) and had a cloth to put down at a park and you both were together and listened to the birds and watched the sun set?"

She told me that she thought that it would be, and I qoute, "So Romantic" unqoute! THANK YOU! That is what I was looking for! The response of her liking what she just heard!

You don't have to panic when you are unsure of what to do. Best thing is to try and remember what kindled the romance at the start, and do it again. If you need ideas, everyone under the sun has advice for you. I won't tell anyone what to do, just remember that it doesn't have to be expensive or have a plan totally layed out. You can be that man, that did forget until the last minute, but still comes out smelling like a rose.

You can make it simple or complex, your choice. It really is what you feel she would like, but also remember it is her day, their day.
