Marshmellow Peanut butter thingy! Submitted by: Kenda
I had something Christmas Eve that I have not had in several years and as I think on it now...I don' t know why we haven't fixed these at home! When I was little and even when I was bigger, my dad-who is Awesome- fixed us all a special treat. I do not know if they have a name. I just call them Marshmellow peanut butter thingies! This is a wonderful snack and treat for kiddos of all ages. So simple they can help make them and that adds to the experience. What you need: Saltine crackers Peanut Butter Marshmellows-the size used for roasting over a fire oven-toaster oven will work also Take a saltine cracker and spread some peanut butter on it. Then place a marshmellow on top. Place them on a baking sheet and fix plenty of them because you cannot eat just one! I use the broiler on my oven to heat them and melt the marshmellow. Brown the top just a little and when the marshmellow is good and gooey they are done! Let them cool enough so that the little ones do not get burnt and then let the fun begin. I have seen white noses, sticky finger tips and gooey chins. All this is accompanied with a huge smile as they enjoy the snack they helped prepare. Great for adults to enjoy too! Experiment with your kids. I bet they would be great with chocolate syrup drizzled on top or caramel sauce! What ever your taste, just have a great time with it and enjoy a special treat from my child hood and now a current favorite of my kiddos. There are no comments yet! You could be the first. |
